Studying CS and Statistics at the University of Pittsburgh

About Me

Hey there! My name is Tianyi Zheng, and welcome to my personal site.

I'm an undergraduate Computer Science and Statistics student at the University of Pittsburgh who's passionate about data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

I'm currently working as an undergraduate teaching assistant in the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Computer Science. I've also worked at AWS as a Software Development Engineer intern.

In my free time, I play the piano, learn new languages, and hang out with friends. You will often find me working on personal projects and/or banging my head against my desk as I debug my code or work out a difficult math problem.

Experience

I lead weekly recitations to review lecture topics and go over practice problems, and I hold weekly office hours to provide additional support outside of class.

I'm currently a TA for CS 0441 (Discrete Structures in CS) and CMPINF 0010 (Big Ideas in Computing and Information). In the past, I've also worked as a TA for CS 0010 (Introduction to Computing for the Humanities) and CS 0445 (Data Structures and Algorithms 1).

Projects

patientPrep

patientPrep is a prototype health literacy app that I helped develop for The Pitt Challenge 2020 hackathon.

It was designed to help patients stay informed of their conditions by providing relevant articles and suggesting questions to ask their doctors in upcoming appointments.

My team and I won first place in our category :)
